Description:
Hebrew wisdom literature is a genre of ancient middle-eastern literature with the central purpose of conveying divine wisdom about God and the world He has created. The body of Hebrew wisdom literature is comprised of five biblical books including Psalms, Proverbs, Job, Ecclesiastes and Song of Songs as well as other inter-testamental Hebrew writings some of which are included in the biblical Apocrypha. This course involves a study of the first four biblical books mentioned (Song of Songs is omitted). The diligent study of these writings provides an opportunity for the student to sit at the feet of the Hebrew sages and drink of the divine wisdom given to them by the Holy Spirit. The ultimate goal of this course is application – that the wisdom of these books become personal “life lessons” to be applied by the student in his or her daily life.
